Song of the Day #2: Streams of Whiskey

Today´s song of the day is performed by "The Bloody Irish Boys". Fortunately I found it on youtube as I don´t think that this band is very popular. There are many bands I listen to that can´t be found on youtube, that´s why I was happy to find at least this one there. Enjoy it and tell me if you like it.

Dangerous
Released: November 26, 1991
Recorded: June 25, 1990 - October 29, 1991
Genre: R&B/Pop

This was my first album ever. I bought it in Bayreuth, Germany in 1991 for 32 Deutschmarks. Great cover, great artist, great songs, great album.

Albums of my Life #2: Smash

Smash
Released: April 8, 1994
Recorded: October–December 1993
Genre: Punk Rock
Label: Epitaph

Actually I can´t describe what this album means to me. My vocabulary (no matter which language) is just too small. In retrospect I´d say that I would have paid any amount to get Offspring´s best album. This album´s sacred! It´s one of very few albums that have to be seen as a whole. Every single song is just great! If I had to live on a desert island for the rest of my life and whoever sends me there grants me to take along one CD - Smash would be the one.
My favorite songs: Genocide, Self Esteem, Smash
(and 11 other songs on this CD)

New Series - Albums of My Life

This is my new series - Albums of My Life.
I´ll do regular posts about albums that I used to listen to when I was a young boy, when I was a teenager and albums that I´ve been listening to for the past few years. Albums that remind me of events in the past, albums that make me think, albums that I can´t live without.

Irish Folk #2

Here´s another example of Irish music. I like this song. It was the first time I heard it when I saw this video. In our pedestrian precinct you see a lot of those guys. Some play the recorder, some the violin and some beat the drums or play Bob Marley songs on their guitar which actually isn´t very Irish but I love it nevertheless. I´m not used to so many musicians in the streets but I like it that way, here in Cork.

Worst Soundtrack Ever

A few days ago I watched the "cult film" Scarface. And I was really surprised at the soundtrack - negatively. To be honest, it was the most disappointing soundtrack I know. However, there are some soundtracks of movies I saw recently that I do like. I liked "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Death Proof", "Run Fat Boy Run", and the "Detroit Rock City" soundtrack. What are your favorite soundtracks, or the soundtracks you hate most?

Irish Folk #1

Almost every country has its own music culture. And I guess German "Volksmusik" has by far the smallest fan community. Irish folk music, however, has much more fans. And since I´m in Ireland now, I´ve been looking for some great Irish folk music stuff. How do you like this one?

One Hell of a Fast Song

Do you like hardcore music? Here´s an example of a very...very fast song. It´s called "E-Skile" - performed by Raised Fist. It´s actual length is 7 seconds. Tell me if you liked it and if you know a song that is either faster or shorter.

Listen now!

Give A Man A Kick - Live in Cork

There´s a great pub in Cork, Ireland that invites bands to play there.
It´s called "An Bróg". On October 17th "Give A Man A Kick" will play there.
And the best thing is that it´s for free. And since I don´t drink alcohol,
it´s going to be a very cheap night for me. Check out my two favorite videos. Give a Man a Kick kicks a**!

Hip Hop Imitator

I came across this hip hop artists imitating guy called Aries Spears. Maybe you´ve heard of him. In this video he imitates the voices of LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and DMX. And I have to admit - he really rocks! Let me know if you know some similar videos of him.

I WANNA BE #1: Jay-Z

I wanna be Jay-Z because...

- Forbes.com says he´s got 34 mio. dollars
- he´s not just a musician, actually he´s a songwriter, a record executive, a CEO and a president too.
- then I would be married to Beyoncé...

My favorite of the week: Jay-Z! What about you?

GetABuz.com

It´s obvious that the basic form of communication is actually missing in our websites and blogs. It´s the human voice. GetABuz.com offers you a voicemail service for your personal website and network pages. Here users can set their own welcome voicemail and others can send voicemails to this person’s website or phone. Very nice features at GetABuz.com are that friends and visitors of your site can leave a voicemail just like they used to leave typed messages. You can listen to them right from your website which is also a great feature. You can also record messages, leave a voicemail from a mobile phone. Also the options of prank calling are very promising. Their voice messenger can be embedded into MySpace and Facebook as well as many other social networking sites. Messages can be sent with music and even celebrity voices or just with your very own voice. Voicemails can also be set up as welcomes to a personal website. GetABuz.com is perfect for college kids but also for post-graduates to keep in touch. It´s also a nice thing to have for youngsters to prank call, and parents to listen to their child’s voice when they haven´t heard anything of their kids for a long time. So if you´re interested in voice comments for myspace, voice comments for facebook or voice greetings with music, then just check out their website and get it for your website.
